SURVIVORS' STORIES

DAWN WALLS

I was diagnosed with Burkitt's Lymphoma during spring break when what started out as a sore throat turned into a nightmare. I went through massive doses of chemotherapy for four months and only got to go home twice for a couple of days. With the help of God, my son Andrew and my parents, I made it through a horrible ordeal.

I have been "cured" for 4 1/2 years. I graduated form college and now teach Early Childhood. Life has never been so special to me and I hope I don't ever take it for granted.
